Hey howdy hey, welcome back once more to the progress update blog. I do actually have an announcement to make in regards to these posts. As of this content week, I'll actually be doing two blog posts per week. The normal blog post that goes out on Tuesday will solely talk about upcoming video development, while the new blog posts (likely on Friday) will talk about video reception and thoughts regarding the video personally after completion. This change is being made to drive up more blog views, as well as to separate the categories, as I felt I took up too much time last blog post talkin about the prior video reception. Thank you for your hopeful understanding of this.
Now to completely break that newset rule, as I wanna talk about my last video, because I didn't think of this 'new post' idea till today, so too bad. I'm personally pretty happy with last video, though less satisficed with editing. Reception is incredible toward it, a lot pf friends messaged that they genuinely really enjoyed it, but I know I can do better. Last video was incredibly rushed because I made a very poor decision of writing the script before testing out mods, and even getting mods working in the first place. Figuring out modding on the Switch was actually nightmarish, and something I don't wish to repeat at least for a while. However it all seems to be worth since the video is doing like really well, better than expected, it's leaving the audience of my friends and gaining a very slow general reception. I'm very gracious of the development, and especially of the watch retention. If you refer back to the last blog post, the Mario video bombed in that regard, no one wanted to sit through gameplay garbage, so very happy to see that people enjoy the shorter informal based content. One sad note though, is that I likely wont have another video do this well reception-wise.Persona 5 Royal was very relevant, because the new factor of it just releasing on other platforms, that's lightning in a bottle that I won't really be able to replicate unless I become a slave to just buying new games solely to mod without a care in the world. I'm not gonna like buy god of war to make a mod video, even though that would do great view wise. Hell oddly enough people mostly found my video though Youtube Search, 67% in fact. They were all searching for persona 5 royal mods in some form, and mine showed up in that attention economy.
As for the video that's actually currently in development, Yakuza 0. It's a game near and dear to me, as well as having a flourishing mod scene. Thankfully development on this is going swimmingly, as of writing this all the gameplay footage is complete, as well as the script. Did not make the same issue of last video, and things are looking up for the editing bay session. I've also made some format based changes, such as listing usage of mods for organization, and as for video format, I got a suggestion that I do agree with. The suggestion was based around my delivery of my script, which I already didn't like so I was open to changes.
I agree to the fact that I sounded too preachy, and just like I was reading off something boringly (which I was). I need more genuine, I don't wanna do a forced "Youtuber" voice, natural works best. Of course reading a script in a natural tone whilst showcasing my content "personality" is no easy feat, but something I plan to focus on whilst recording for the script.
Alrighty, that's all for this time, sorry for gettin too ramble-focused, and taking up majority of the page talking about last video (hence the creation of the planned new post). But thank you for reading all of that regardless, I know it was quite a lot. As for current plans on next video, I wanna bring it all back to Garry's Mod, specifically focusing on a new trend that's arisen in the community. Catch ya people next time hopefully, once more thank you for reading, farewell.
